He stressed that the conference's conclusions would be added to the proposals of the European Parliament and the Commission's evaluations of Interreg to make a broader and better Interreg II. The vice-president of the CCRE (Council of European Regions and Municipalities) Van Cauwenberghe, mayor of Charleroi, also spoke of the vital importance of Interreg in involving local and regional administrations and representatives at the level closest to the ordinary citizen.
