In 1987, Mr. Delisle undertook a lengthy legal battle to have the exclusion under the Public Service Staff Relations Act for members of the RCMP struck down. In support of his case, the plaintiff stated that this violated section 2(d) of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, which guarantees all Canadians the freedom of association.
