The ESC opinion (rapporteur: Mr Jean-Michel Bloch-Lainé, Various Interests Group, France) on the Social Policy Agenda welcomes the Commission's proposals for two main reasons: firstly because they underscore the importance of social policy as an area which can contribute to growth and employment, and secondly because the Commission document sets out a list of objectives, a strategy and a timetable viewed from a fresh perspective.
L'avis du Comité (rapporteur : M. Jean-Michel Bloch-Lainé, Groupe des activités diverses, France) sur "L'agenda pour la politique sociale" accueille avec satisfaction les propositions de la Commission pour deux raisons essentielles : premièrement, ces propositions soulignent l'importance de la politique sociale en tant que domaine susceptible de contribuer à la croissance et à l'emploi et, deuxièmement, la Commission a, dans son document, défini sous une perspective nouvelle des objectifs, une méthode et un calendrier.
