In the event of the death of a former member of the temporary staff within the meaning of Article 2(a), (c) or (d) who leaves the service before reaching 63 years of age and requests that his retirement pension be deferred until the first day of the calendar month following that in which he reaches 63 years of age, children deemed to be his dependants in accordance with Article 2 of Annex VII to the Staff Regulations shall be entitled to an orphan's pension on the same terms as those set out in the preceding paragraphs.

In these circumstances, the potential alert threshold should be deemed to have been reached when the price of crude oil on the spot markets is such that, if the price is maintained at this level for 12 months, the external oil bill of the European Union over the following 12 months would be increased by an amount equivalent to more than half of one percent of the GDP of the European Union in the preceding year as compared with the average external oil bill over the last five years.

(c) As regards a married woman whose husband is entitled to a pension under Netherlands legislation on general old-age insurance, periods of the marriage preceding the date when she reached the age of sixty-five years and during which she resided in the territory of one or more Member States shall also be taken into account as insurance periods, in so far as those periods coincide with periods of insurance completed by her husband under that legislation and with those to be taken into account in pursuance of subparagraph (a).

(c) As regards a married woman whose husband is entitled to a pension under Netherlands legislation on general old-age insurance, periods of the marriage preceding the date when she reached the age of sixty-five years and during which she resided in the territory of one or more Member States shall also be taken into account as insurance periods, in so far as those periods coincide with insurance periods completed by her husband under that legislation and with those to be taken into account in pursuance of subparagraph (a).
