Clearly, although, on the one hand, a constructive relationship has been maintained with the Commission, thanks to Commissioner Schreyer and to Mr Wynn who chaired the Committee with the patience of a saint, on the other hand, the Council tried to monopolise our budget completely. It may have arrived at the same result but, in political terms, it certainly did not acknowledge the results achieved by our Committee on Budgets.
Si, d'une part, nos rapports avec la Commission ont été constructifs grâce à la commissaire Schreyer et à la patience infaillible du président Wynn en commission, nous nous sommes retrouvés, d'autre part, face à un Conseil qui a tenté de monopoliser complètement ce budget, en parvenant sans doute aussi à ce résultat, mais en ne reconnaissant pas les résultats, en termes politiques, de l'action de notre commission sur le budget.
