IN-CONTEXT TRANSLATIONS

33. Calls on Chisinau and Tiraspol to continue to engage constructively in order to find an effective solution for the settlement of the Transnistria issue and to take concrete steps to improve the livelihoods of the population; expresses disappointment that so far the ‘5+2’ framework has failed to offer a solution and demands a greater role for the EU, in particular by upgrading its status to that of a negotiating partner, and calls on all parties involved to use all instruments at their disposal to lay the foundations for constructive dialogue and to facilitate the rapid continuation of official talks; calls on the HR/VP and the EEAS to work proactively towards a comprehensive settlement that respects the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova and promotes confidence-building, working very closely with the competent structures of the OSCE; highlights the need to ensure that Transnistria, as an integral part of the Republic of Moldova, is covered by the reach and effects of the Association Agreement; encourages the Moldovan authorities, to this end, to reach out to the general population, the business community and civil society organisations; notes that any solution should be in line with and fully respect the principles of international law;
33. invite Chisinau et Tiraspol à poursuivre leur dialogue constructif afin de parvenir à un règlement efficace du problème de la Transnistrie et à adopter des mesures concrètes pour améliorer les conditions de vie de sa population; se dit déçu que le cadre «5 + 2» cadre n'ait pas permis jusqu'à présent d'apporter une solution et réclame que l'Union se voie octroyer un rôle accru, en particulier en relevant son statut à celui de partenaire de négociation, et invite toutes les parties concernées à employer l'ensemble des instruments à leur disposition pour jeter les bases d'un dialogue constructif et contribuer à la poursuite rapide des négociations officielles; invite la HR/VP et le SEAE à s'employer activement à la recherche d'une solution globale qui respecte la souveraineté et l'intégrité territoriale de la République de Moldavie, et à promouvoir la confiance en travaillant très étroitement avec les structures compétentes de l'OSCE; souligne qu'il est indispensable de veiller à ce que l'accord d'association s'applique aussi dans tous ses effets à la Transnistrie, qui fait partie intégrante de la République de Moldavie; encourage, à cette fin, les autorités moldaves à sensibiliser l'opinion publique, le monde des affaires et les organisations de la société civile; constate que toute solution devrait être conforme aux principes du droit international et les respecter pleinement;

Where the Commission finds that there is sufficient evidence of fraud, irregularities or systematic failure by Moldova to comply, or to ensure compliance, with the rules of origin of products and the procedures related thereto, or to provide administrative cooperation as referred to in Article 2(1), or to comply with any of the other conditions defined in Article 2(1), it may take measures in accordance with the examination procedure referred to in Article 11a(5) to suspend in whole or in part the preferential arrangements provided for in this Regulation for a period of not more than six months, provided that it has first:".

11. Underlines its unwavering support for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova; believes that the EU should play a more active role in finding a solution to the Transnistrian issue; welcomes the informal meetings that took place in the "5+2" format regarding the Transnistria settlement efforts since June 2009; calls upon the parts to return to formal negotiations in this format at the earliest possible time; stresses that although the resolution of the Transnistrian issue constitutes a crucial element for promoting political stability and economic prosperity in the Republic of Moldova and the region, the prolongation of this issue should not hamper Moldova’s EU integration and eventual membership;
11. réaffirme son soutien indéfectible à l'intégrité territoriale de la République de Moldavie; est d'avis que l'Union européenne devrait jouer un rôle plus actif dans la recherche d'une solution au problème de la Transnistrie; se félicite des réunions informelles, qui se sont déroulées depuis juin 2009 dans le format "5+2", relatives aux efforts déployés en vue d'apporter une réponse à la question de la Transnistrie; invite les parties à reprendre les négociations formelles dans ce format le plus tôt possible; souligne que, bien que la résolution du problème de la Transnistrie constitue un élément primordial pour promouvoir la stabilité politique et la prospérité économique en République de Moldavie et dans la région, la persistance de ce problème ne devrait pas entraver l'intégration de la Moldavie à l'Union européenne ni empêcher, à terme, son adhésion;

8. Stresses that the resolution of the Transnistrian issue constitutes a crucial element for promoting political stability and economic prosperity in the Republic of Moldova and the region; reiterates its support for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova and points out that a more robust EU role in finding a solution to the Transnistrian question is needed, as the prolongation of this issue should not hamper Moldova's EU integration;
8. souligne que la résolution sur la question de la Transnistrie constitue un élément primordial pour promouvoir la stabilité politique et la prospérité économique en République de Moldavie et dans la région; réaffirme son soutien à l'intégrité territoriale de la République de Moldavie et fait observer qu'il est nécessaire que l'Union européenne joue un rôle plus énergique dans la résolution de la question de la Transnistrie, pour éviter que ce problème, en perdurant, n'entrave l'intégration de la Moldavie à l'Union européenne;

The EU expressed its continued support for finding a solution to the conflict that respects Moldova's territorial integrity.
L'UE a indiqué qu'elle continuait à soutenir les efforts visant à parvenir à un règlement du conflit, dans le respect de l'intégrité territoriale de la Moldavie.

Finally, it is important in my opinion to urge the countries in that region to contribute to Moldova’s stability and to help find a solution to the problem involving Transdniestria, for that is also a heavy burden resting on Moldova.

He reconfirmed EU's support for territorial integrity of Moldova and stressed that the implementation of the Association Agreement and the introduction of visa-free regime will also create conditions for finding a solution for Transdnistria while respecting the internationally recognised borders of Moldova.

The main success stories of the Environment for Europe process include holding multilateral forums, its contribution to the drafting of pan-European reports evaluating the state of the environment, as well as the environmental strategy for the countries of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kirgizstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan) which aims to find solutions to environmental problems shared by these countries.
