We are still some way off an agreement, but I would like, as regards the determined support the Commission offers you, to give a clear reminder, if there could be any doubts, concerns or questions surrounding this, that the Commission will strive to the very last minute – you can count on me – to set itself very ambitious targets for the Treaty of Nice in these negotiations, so that we will not simply be concluding the negotiations at Nice, but first and foremost ensuring their success.
Nous sommes encore loin d'un accord, mais je voudrais, s'agissant de la détermination de la Commission à vos côtés, rappeler de la manière la plus nette, s'il devait y avoir des doutes, des inquiétudes ou des questions, que la Commission continuera jusqu'au bout, vous pouvez compter sur moi, à se fixer pour cette négociation un très haut niveau d'ambition pour le Traité de Nice, de telle sorte qu'il ne s'agisse pas seulement de terminer cette négociation à Nice, mais surtout et d'abord de la réussir.
