Definition: This block contains a wide variety of disorders that differ in severity and clinical form but that are all attributable to the use of one or more psychoactive substances, which may or may not have been medically prescribed. The third character of the code identifies the substance involved, and the fourth character specifies the clinical state. The codes should be used, as required, for each substance specified, but it should be noted that not all fourth character codes are applicable to all substances. Identification of the psychoactive substance should be based on as many sources of information as possible. Nothing in this Resolution should be interpreted as departing from the principle that the exchange of personal data shall comply with the relevant national and international legislation, bearing in mind the principles in Council of Europe Convention No 108 of 28 January 1981 for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data as well as, where appropriate, in Recommendation No R(87) 15 of 17 September 1987 of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe regulating the Use of Personal Data in the Police Sector.

La présente résolution ne doit en rien être interprétée comme s'écartant du principe selon lequel l'échange de données à caractère personnel se fait conformément à la législation nationale et au droit international en vigueur, compte tenu des principes de la convention n° 108 du Conseil de l'Europe du 28 janvier 1981 pour la protection des personnes à l'égard du traitement automatisé des données à caractère personnel ainsi que, le cas échéant, de la recommandation n° R(87) 15 du 17 septembre 1987 du Comité des Ministres du Conseil de l'Europe visant à réglementer l'utilisation des données à caractère personnel dans le secteur de la police.

Member States must adopt national rules providing for a level of data protection at least equal to that resulting from the Council of Europe’s 1981 Convention for the Protection of Individuals with regard to Automatic Processing of Personal Data and the Council of Europe Committee of Ministers’ 1987 Recommendation regulating the use of personal data in the police sector.[10] While the Schengen Convention does not include a review mechanism, signatories may propose amendments to it, following which the amended text must be approved by unanimity and ratified by national parliaments.
Les États membres doivent adopter des dispositions nationales prévoyant un niveau de protection des données au moins égal à celui résultant de la convention de 1981 du Conseil de l’Europe pour la protection des personnes à l'égard du traitement automatisé des données à caractère personnel et de la recommandation de 1987 du Comité des ministres du Conseil de l’Europe aux États membres visant à réglementer l'utilisation de données à caractère personnel dans le secteur de la police[10]. Bien que la convention de Schengen ne prévoie pas de mécanisme de réexamen, ses signataires peuvent proposer des modifications à la convention, à la suite de quoi le texte modifié doit être approuvé à l’unanimité et ratifié par les parlements nationaux.
