The food additive ‘Carboxy methyl cellulose, Sodium carboxy methyl cellulose, cellulose gum’ (E 466) should be renamed as ‘Sodium carboxy methyl cellulose, Cellulose gum’ in the Union list of food additives set out in Annexes II and III to Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008 and in the specifications for this additive for the purpose of clarity and in order to align it with its registered name in the INS.
Dans un souci de clarté et de cohérence avec la dénomination enregistrée dans le SIN, l’additif alimentaire «carboxyméthylcellulose de sodium, carboxyméthylcellulose, gomme de cellulose» (E 466) devrait être renommé «carboxyméthyl-cellulose sodique, gomme cellulosique» sur la liste de l’Union des additifs alimentaires figurant aux annexes II et III du règlement (CE) no 1333/2008.

L’inscription relative à l’additif E 466 «Carboxyméthylcellulose de sodium, carboxyméthylcellulose, gomme de cellulose» est modifiée comme suit:

The food additives ‘Brilliant Black BN, Black PN’ (E 151) or ‘Carboxy methyl cellulose, Sodium carboxy methyl cellulose, Cellulose gum’ (E 466) and foods containing those food additives, labelled or placed on the market up to twenty four months after the entry into force of this Regulation and which do not comply with the requirements of this Regulation, may be marketed until the stocks are exhausted.
