If the Press Gallery feels that it can go ahead whether or not there is an agreement with the House Broadcasting Unit, in September we may find ourselves in a situation where there is no agreement and hence the status quo would be maintained until the end of June or until the end of December, depending on what the committee decides. That means that the tapes would be kept for 35 days before being destroyed, and we, as an institution, would lose them for good.
Si la Tribune de la presse sent, de notre part, qu'elle pourra aller de l'avant qu'il y ait ou non entente avec le Service de radio-télédiffusion de la Chambre, le danger pourrait être que nous nous retrouvions en septembre dans la situation où il n'y aurait pas d'entente et où le statu quo serait maintenu jusqu'à la fin juin ou jusqu'à la fin décembre, selon la décision du comité, c'est-à-dire que les bandes seraient conservées pendant 35 jours avant d'être détruites et nous, comme institution, les perdrions à tout jamais.
