The Commission has established that two small EU carriers and two carriers from Central and Eastern European countries were interested in starting a service on routes between Austria and Germany provided that slots were available and other conditions met. On this basis, the Commission started in-depth negotiations with AuA and Lufthansa with a view to agree on a number of commitments which would facilitate market entry.
