Despite Larco's bad financial situation, it appears that the capital increase was not based on a restructuring plan to restore the company's viability, whereas NBG appears to have written-off the book value of the company ‘because the Group does not foresee to recover the book value of the investment, given that the company encounters significant financial difficulties’ (8) (see recital 45 of the decision of 6 March 2013).
