This new provision, which parallels the existing one on quality management standards, permits contracting authorities to require economic operators to provide certificates of conformity with environmental management standards, including the Community’s own Eco-Management and Audit Scheme, which the Community recently decided to extend. It also includes those developed according to the principles laid down under Agenda 21.
