A requirement should therefore be introduced to publish an interim management statement during the first six months and a second interim management statement during the second six months of a financial year.

– (PT) I voted in favour of this report for the following reasons, which are quite brief. Firstly, the importance of the Commission communication which, in discussing the better management of the EU’s external borders, links the action of the Member States to measures of a European nature, which are actually crucial, given the threats posed in particular by organised crime, terrorism and illegal immigration, as well as the imminent entry into the EU of new countries. Secondly, the positive approach of the rapporteur, who continually emphasises that the management of our borders is still a national competence and must be applied at the national level.
- (PT) Voici les raisons pour lesquelles j'ai voté pour ce rapport : premièrement, en raison de l'importance de la communication de la Commission qui, se penchant sur une meilleure gestion des frontière extérieures, associe à l'action des États membres des mesures à caractère européen, réellement indispensables compte tenu des menaces que représentent notamment la criminalité organisée, le terrorisme et l'immigration illégale, sans oublier l'entrée imminente de nouveaux pays au sein de l'UE ; deuxièmement, en raison de l'approche positive adoptée par le rapporteur qui souligne que la gestion de nos frontières demeure une compétence nationale et doit être exercée au niveau national.

The second part apparently deals with the management of external courses awarded by the IMEFE to outside companies where there are serious and justifiable concerns as to whether the funds concerned have been used properly.
