The majority of the 1,399 workers concerned were covered by a first EGF application from 2014.

The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) which the Commission also proposed to continue in the 2014-2020 period, helps manage restructuring processes by co-financing re-skilling and job-search measures for those workers affected by large-scale redundancies resulting from changing global trade patterns.
Le Fonds européen d’ajustement à la mondialisation (FEM), que la Commission propose également de maintenir durant la période 2014-2020, contribue à atténuer les conséquences de restructurations par le cofinancement de mesures de recyclage et de recherche d’emploi en faveur des travailleurs victimes de licenciements collectifs résultant de modifications de la structure du commerce mondial.

4. At the initiative of the applicant Member State, a financial contribution from the EGF may be made for the preparatory, management, information and publicity, control and reporting activities.
