It is therefore necessary to empower the Commission, assisted by a Community advisory board made up of national representatives and of all interested parties, to reassess and upgrade the Common Specifications for office equipment set out in Annex C to the Agreement regularly and to take certain decisions for implementation of the Agreement, such as the layout of the Energy Star logo and the guidelines for use of the logo contained in Annexes A and B respectively.

3. The position of the Community with regard to decisions to be taken by the management entities shall be determined, with regard to amendments of Annex A (Energy Star name and common logo), Annex B (Guidelines for proper use of the Energy Star name and common logo), and Annex C (Common Specifications) to the Agreement, by the Commission, after consultation of the European Community Energy Star Board.
3. La position de la Communauté concernant les décisions à prendre par les organes de gestion pour ce qui est des modifications à apporter à l'annexe A (nom et label commun Energy Star), à l'annexe B (lignes directrices concernant l'utilisation correcte du nom et du label commun Energy Star) et à l'annexe C (spécifications communes) est déterminée par la Commission, après consultation du Bureau Energy Star de la Communauté européenne.

1. The common logo shall be used only in connection with the products covered by the Agreement and in accordance with the logo user guidelines contained in Annex B to the Agreement.

The consumer, therefore, should recognise that the eco-label logo represents ecological criteria which have been established according to scientific and technical guidelines with widespread participation from independent and neutral bodies.
