16. Where a Member State has ratified the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 and a period of 12 months has passed, beginning on the day after registration of its ratification with the Director-General of the International Labour Office, it shall, in so far as practicable, advise its nationals on the possible problems of signing on a ship that flies the flag of a State which has not ratified the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 until it is satisfied that standards equivalent to those fixed by this Article are being applied.
16. Tout État membre qui a ratifié la convention du travail maritime de 2006 depuis 12 mois, à compter du jour suivant l'enregistrement de la ratification auprès de la direction générale du Bureau international du travail, informe, dans la mesure du possible, ses ressortissants des problèmes qui peuvent résulter d’un engagement sur un navire battant le pavillon d’un État qui n’a pas ratifié la convention du travail maritime de 2006, tant qu’il n’est pas établi que des normes équivalentes à celles fixées par le présent article sont appliquées.

The social partners make this Agreement on condition that it shall not enter into force until the date when the ILO Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 enters into force, such date being 12 months after the date on which there have been registered with the International Labour Office ratifications by at least 30 Members with a total share in the world gross tonnage of ships of 33 per cent.
Les partenaires sociaux subordonnent la conclusion du présent accord à la condition que sa date d’entrée en vigueur ne soit pas antérieure à celle de la convention du travail maritime, 2006, de l’OIT, qui entrera en vigueur douze mois après que la ratification d’au moins 30 membres représentant au total au moins 33 pour cent de la jauge brute de la flotte marchande mondiale aura été enregistrée.
