Dr. Kochhar: One thing that is very clear on our part is that we are actually responsible for the disease aspect in the aquatic animal industry, so in terms of working with the provincial and territorial partners, along with DFO as well as Health Canada, we would be very much be part of that should there be a specific aquaculture act that also encompasses the aquatic animal diseases aspect.
Dr Kochhar : Une chose nous apparaît très évidente, c'est que nous assumons en fait la responsabilité du dossier « maladie » de l'industrie des animaux aquatiques. Nous serions donc tout à fait disposés à collaborer avec des partenaires provinciaux et territoriaux, le MPO et Santé Canada, dans une démarche visant à élaborer une loi portant précisément sur l'aquaculture et qui engloberait l'élément des maladies des animaux aquatiques.
