The EMRP initiative is aimed at aligning and integrating relevant national metrology research activities to establish a joint research programme featuring scientific, management and financial integration, making a major contribution to the European Research Area and underpinning the concepts in the Lisbon agenda of Europe as ‘the most competitive and dynamic knowledge-driven economy’.
L’initiative EMRP vise à aligner et synchroniser les activités nationales de recherche en métrologie appropriées pour établir un programme commun de recherche intégré sous les aspects scientifiques, administratifs et financiers, qui représentera une contribution importante pour la réalisation de l’espace européen de la recherche et qui sous-tendra l’un des objectifs de l’agenda de Lisbonne consistant à faire de l’Europe «l’économie de la connaissance la plus compétitive et la plus dynamique au monde».

This exercise should make it possible to identify from the point of view of the Lisbon strategy, the key areas which most directly condition the success of each country and that of its citizens in the knowledge-driven economy and society and those which require a more sustained campaign of reform and investment.
