Furthermore, insofar as its provisions relate to the provisions of Eurodac, by letter of 23 September 2009 to the President of the Council, the United Kingdom has notified its wish to take part in the adoption and application of this Regulation, in accordance with Article 3 of the Protocol on the position of the United Kingdom and Ireland in respect of the area of freedom, security and justice annexed to the TEU and the TFEU. The United Kingdom therefore takes part in the adoption of this Regulation, is bound by it and subject to its application.
