The Commission is building on the strengths of all existing training providers, including the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN) and the Academy of European Law (ERA), and on the European-level legal professional organisations: the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary (ENCJ), the Association of the Councils of State and Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions of the EU (ACA-Europe), the Network of the Presidents of the Supreme Judicial Courts of the EU, the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE), the Council of Notaries of the EU (CNUE), the International Union of Judicial Officers (UIHJ) and the European Legal Interpreters and Translators Association (EULITA).

Bodies and entities pursuing a general European interest in the field of training of the judiciary, such as the European Judicial Training Network (EJTN), the Academy of European Law (ERA), the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary (ENCJ), the Association of the Councils of State and Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions of the European Union (ACA-Europe), the Network of the Presidents of Supreme Judicial Courts of the European Union (RPCSJUE) and the European Institute of Public Administration (EIPA), should continue to play their role in promoting training programmes with a genuine European dimension for the judiciary and judicial staff, and could therefore be granted adequate financial support in accordance with the procedures and the criteria set out in the annual work programmes adopted by the Commission pursuant to this Regulation.
Les organes et entités poursuivant des objectifs d'intérêt général européen dans le domaine de la formation des magistrats, tels que le réseau européen de formation judiciaire (REFJ), l'Académie de droit européen (ERA), le Réseau européen des conseils de la justice (RECJ), l'Association des Conseils d'État et des juridictions administratives suprêmes de l'Union européenne (ACA-Europe), le Réseau des présidents des Cours suprêmes judiciaires des États membres de l'Union européenne (RPCSJUE) et l'Institut européen d'administration publique (IEAP), devraient continuer de jouer leur rôle de promotion des programmes de formation destinés aux magistrats et personnels de justice dans le cadre d'une véritable dimension européenne et pourraient dès lors se voir octroyer un soutien financier approprié, conformément aux procédures et aux critères énoncés dans les programmes de travail annuels adoptés par la Commission en vertu du présent règlement.

Judicial training can involve different actors, such as Member States' legal, judicial and administrative authorities, academic institutions, national bodies responsible for judicial training, European-level training organisations or networks, or networks of court coordinators of Union law.
La formation judiciaire peut associer différents acteurs, tels que les autorités judiciaires et administratives des États membres, des établissements universitaires, des organismes nationaux responsables de la formation judiciaire, des organisations ou réseaux de formation au niveau européen, ou des réseaux de coordinateurs du droit de l'Union au sein des structures judiciaires.

The Network shall also maintain relations with the European Judicial Training Network with a view to promoting, where appropriate and without prejudice to national practices, training sessions on judicial cooperation in civil and commercial matters for the benefit of the local judicial authorities of the Member States.
Le réseau entretient aussi des relations avec le réseau européen de formation judiciaire en vue de promouvoir, le cas échéant et sans préjudice des pratiques nationales, des sessions de formation relatives à la coopération judiciaire en matière civile et commerciale au profit des autorités judiciaires locales des États membres.

The Commission will also seek to develop a closer partnership with players in the training area at both European and national level and to support networking by these players, for example by strengthening the existing European Judicial Training Network.
En outre, la Commission entend développer un partenariat plus étroit avec les acteurs de la formation tant au niveau européen qu'au niveau national et appuyer leur mise en réseau, notamment en soutenant l’actuel Réseau Européen de Formation Judiciaire.

On 29 June the second programme of exchanges of judges and prosecutors will be launched by the Commissioner responsible for justice, freedom and security, Vice-President Frattini, in the premises of the European judicial training network and in the presence of the President of the Belgian Supreme Judicial Council, the Secretary General of the Italian Judicial Council and the former Director of the French Ecole Nationale de Magistrature (Training College for the Judiciary).

In talking of judicial training I should not fail to mention the work of the European judicial network in civil matters (EJN Civil) which since 2002 has been an important network for the training of judges in the civil law sphere.

Moreover, it is at the heart of the Community machinery to facilitate judicial cooperation in civil matters and must accordingly establish relationships with other European networks of judicial organisations or judges working for the same aims, such as the European Network of Councils for the Judiciary, the European Network of Supreme Judicial Courts and the European Judicial Training Network.

The Network is to liaise with similar networks and international organisations, such as the European Judicial Network in criminal matters, the European Judicial Training Network, the European Consumers Centres Network (ECC-Net), as well as judicial cooperation networks set up between third countries and with international organisations.
