WHEREAS by Quit Claim dated March 1
2, 1907, the Stoney Indian Band surrendered to His Majesty certain tracts of land situated in the Stoney Indian Reserve in the Province of Alberta containing one thousand (1,000) acres more or less adjacent to Horseshoe Falls, partly on the north side and partly on the south side of the Bow River, in trust to sell the same to such person or persons and upon such terms as the Government of the Dominion of Canada might deem most conducive to the
Band’s welfare and upon further condition that all money
s received from the sale ...[+++] thereof were to be disposed of as therein provided, it being further stipulated that the land was to be sold at the rate of ten dollars per acre on conditions which included the Band agreeing to release their interest in the water power at the Horseshoe Falls on the payment of the sum of $1,500 per annum, in advance, to be placed in the hands of the Superintendent General of Indian Affairs for the benefit of the Band; Attendu que, selon la renonciation en date du 12
mars 1907, la bande indienne de Stoney a cédé à Sa Majesté certaines terres situées dans la réserve indienne de Stoney, dans la province d’Alberta, d’une superficie de 1 000 acres, plus ou moins adjacentes aux chutes Horseshoe, en partie du côté nord et en partie du côté sud de la rivière Bow, en fiducie pour vendre ces terres aux personnes et aux conditions que le gouvernement du Dominion du Canada trouve les plus favorables au bien-être de la
