At the behest of the Hungarian EU Presidency, the CoR will adopt an outlook opinion on the role of local and regional authorities in the sustainable use of water, drafted by Nichi Vendola (IT/PES), President of the Puglia Region.
Le Comité des régions adoptera en effet un avis exploratoire que lui avait demandé la présidence hongroise du Conseil de l'UE, concernant le rôle des autorités locales et régionales dans une utilisation durable des ressources en eau. Son rapporteur est M. Nichi Vendola (Italie/PSE), président de la région des Pouilles.

The opinion on the role of local and regional authorities in the sustainable use of water was requested by the Hungarian EU Presidency and adopted by the CoR plenary just as Budapest prepares to hand over the EU reins to Warsaw.
L'avis sur le rôle des collectivités locales et régionales dans la promotion d'une gestion durable de l'eau a été élaboré à la demande de la présidence hongroise de l'UE et a été adopté par le CdR en session plénière au moment même où Budapest se prépare à transmettre les rênes de l'UE à Varsovie.

When Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán presented the programme of the Hungarian EU presidency to the European Parliament on 19 January, he said: ‘The Roma strategy is a priority aspect of the Hungarian Presidency, because there is no point in a smart Europe if it has no heart.
