EESC President Mrs Anne-Marie Sigmund noted in her opening speech that “the success of the WTO Ministerial Conference in Hong Kong would send a positive signal and strengthen the global economy in the face of uncertainties created by high oil prices, global security problems and increasing protectionist forces”.
Mme Anne-Marie Sigmund, présidente du CESE, a fait remarquer, dans son discours d'ouverture, que "si la conférence ministérielle de l'OMC qui se tiendra à Hong Kong se concluait par un succès, cela enverrait un signal positif et cela renforcerait l'économie mondiale face à l'incertitude engendrée par le caractère élevé du prix de l'essence, les problèmes liés à la sécurité à l'échelon mondial et la montée des forces protectionnistes".
