The amended Directive (Article 6(3)) makes it an obligation for the Member States to grant associations, organisations and other legal bodies with a legitimate interest in ensuring compliance with that Directive the possibility of engaging, either on behalf or in support of the complainant and with his or her approval, in any judicial or administrative proceedings provided for the enforcement of obligations under the Directive in accordance with criteria laid down by national law.

However, I feel I should mention the concern of some Members of this Parliament, most of whom are reputed scientists, who view with alarm the total ban on experimentation within the terms and time periods put forward in Mrs Roth-Behrendt’s amendments, since, according to her criteria, compliance with them could compromise the security of the product or impede progress in the field of scientific research into cosmetics.
Cependant, il me semble nécessaire de signaler la préoccupation de certains membres de ce Parlement, la plupart d'entre eux scientifiques de renom, qui considèrent avec inquiétude l'interdiction totale de l'expérimentation dans les termes et délais que Mme Roth-Behrendt envisage dans ses amendements, car elle risque, selon eux, de compromettre la sûreté du produit ou interrompre les progrès dans le domaine de la recherche scientifique sur les cosmétiques.
