With regard to brain drain, we have always based our thinking on the principle that Erasmus Mundus would have to attract young people from third countries to Europe and then encourage them to return to their own countries, because it is in their own countries that they will have to build on what they have learnt in Europe.
Concernant la fuite des cerveaux, on a toujours pris, comme base de nos réflexions, le principe qu'il fallait qu'Erasmus Mundus serve à attirer chez nous des jeunes de pays tiers pour ensuite les amener à retourner dans leur pays, parce que c'est dans leur pays qu'ils devront construire avec ce qu'ils auront appris chez nous.

What provisions have been made for public access to the new Berlaymont building? What savings does the Commission expect to make once the need for its present 'improvised arrangements' have gone and it has returned to its original headquarters and what innovative features have been introduced to ensure that the running costs of the Berlaymont are kept to the minimum and the building will act as a symbol for a dynamic European Union?

Could we also have details of what the law is in France regarding the occupation of buildings found to have Legionella in their systems and, if possible, information on what would happen in other Member States if a building was found to have Legionella in it?

If buildings had been built to earthquake standards, we would have had fewer victims. Even the director of the earthquake institute in Istanbul stated that there is no building control committee in the area to check that buildings meet specifications.
