Definition: This block contains a wide variety of disorders that differ in severity and clinical form but that are all attributable to the use of one or more psychoactive substances, which may or may not have been medically prescribed. Definition: This category differs from others in that it includes disorders identifiable on the basis of not only symptoms and course but also the existence of one or other of two causative influences: an exceptionally stressful life event producing an acute stress reaction, or a significant life change leading to continued unpleasant circumstances that result in an adjustment disorder. Although less severe psychosocial stress ( life events ) may precipitate the onset or contribute to the presentation of a very wide range of disorders classified elsewhere in this chapter, its etiological importance is not always clear and in each case will be found to depend on individual, often idiosyncratic, vulnerability, i.e. the life events are neither necessary nor sufficient to explain the occurrence and form of the disorder. In contrast, the disorders brought together here are thought to arise always as a direct consequence of acute severe stress or continued trauma. The stressful events or the continuing unpleasant circumstances are the primary and overriding causal factor and the disorder would not have occurred without their impact. The disorders in this section can thus be regarded as maladaptive responses to severe or continued stress, in that they interfere with successful coping mechanisms and therefore lead to problems of social functioning.

(Le document est déposé) Question n 865 Mme Kirsty Duncan: En ce qui concerne la réduction des subventions gouvernementales aux organismes d’aide à l’établissement des nouveaux arrivants: a) en quoi cette politique correspond-elle à l’engagement du Canada en faveur de la diversité culturelle; b) a-t-on cherché depuis cinq ans à évaluer les besoins des nouveaux arrivants, si non, pourquoi pas, si oui, (i) quand ces évaluations ont-elles été menées, (ii) qui les a menées, (iii) quels résultats ont-elles donnés, (iv) sur quelles recommandations ont-elles débouché; c) comment s’y est-on pris au juste pour examiner le budget des programmes d’aide à l’établissement des nouveaux arrivants en vue de les réduire; d) depuis cinq ans, combien le gouvernement a-t-il promis d’investir dans les services d’aide à l’établissement des nouveaux arrivants, par province ou territoire, et combien a-t-il effectivement investi dans ces services, par province ou territoire; e) comment a-t-on décidé de réduire de 53 millions de dollars les subventions aux organismes d’aide à l’établissement des nouveaux arrivants, (i) quelles ont été les étapes du processus de décision, (ii) quelles parties prenantes a-t-on consultées, (iii) quels ministères a-t-on associés au processus de décision, (iv) quelles formules a-t-on employées, (v) comment a-t-on établi que 85 p. 100 des réductions étaient nécessaires en Ontario; f) quel pourcentage des réductions de subventions aux organismes d’aide à l’établissement des nouveaux arrivants effectuées en Ontario l’ont été dans le Grand Toronto; g) combien y a-t-il eu de nouveaux arrivants au Canada dans chacune des cinq dernières années, (i) dans chaque province ou territoire, (ii) combien se sont établis dans chaque province ou territoire, (iii) combien se sont établis dans chacune des dix plus grandes villes canadiennes; h) de quelles données le gouvernement dispose-t-il sur le mouvement des nouveaux arrivants entre les provinces ou les villes dans les t ...

The Commission shall take into accountexperience gained within the relevant international fora, such as the IMO and Euratom and the relevant international agreements, as well as the extent to which these instruments have entered into force and/or have been implemented by Member States and/or have been modified, taking account of all relevant instances of environmental damage resulting from such activities and the remedial action taken and the differences between the liability levels in Member States, and considering the relationship between shipowners' liability and oil receivers' contributions, having due regard to any relevant study undertaken by the International Oil Pollution Compensation Funds.

It will have to be decided whether the register should provide information for investigations undertaken by criminal investigation services (which are police forces or judicial authorities, depending on the country and the type of investigation) or even for investigations undertaken by administrative authorities responsible for controlling access to certain activities (such as work with children, or public tendering) from which convicted persons are disqualified.

In accordance with Article 25 of the ACP-EEC Convention of Lomé signed on 28 February 1975 and with Protocol 3 annexed thereto, the Community has undertaken for an indefinite period, notwithstanding the other provisions of this Annex, to purchase and import, at guaranteed prices, specific quantities of cane sugar, raw or white, which originates in the ACP States producing and exporting cane sugar and which those States have undertaken to deliver to it.
