This is the issue that has come to our attention: how, on the one hand, do you respect traditions that may differentiate on the basis of sex in a traditional aboriginal culture, community, or nation, whatever word we choose to use, and, on the other hand, say, wait a second, that's not right in the context of what we feel are broadly held Canadian values?
