5. By way of derogation from Articles 53(2) and 77(1) of Regulation (EC) No 1083/2006 and notwithstanding the Commission decisions fixing the maximum rate and the maximum amount of the contribution from the Funds for each Greek operational programme and for each priority axis, interim payments and payments of the final balance shall be calculated by applying a maximum co-financing rate of 100 % to the eligible expenditure indicated for Greek operational programmes for the Convergence and Regional competitiveness and employment objectives under each priority axis in each statement of expenditure certified by the certifying authority.

By letter dated 6 April 2000 Greece submitted a draft operational programme for roads, ports and urban development, which includes the strategy for Greek projects in the 'roads - ports' sector and, by another letter of the same date, the draft operational programme for rail, airports and urban transport, which includes the strategy for Greek projects in the 'rail - airports' sector.

Following approval of the CSF in November 2000, almost all its operational programmes were approved between February and April 2001, with the exception of the Environment OP, approved in July, and Technical assistance, which was submitted by the Greek authorities in October and approved by the Commission in December 2001.

(EN) The Commission and the Greek authorities had agreed that no revision of the Greek operational programmes would be initiated in 2010, as Structural Funds absorption in Greece was not advanced enough to allow appropriate conclusions to be made about new directions that could be served by a revision.
