17. Calls for the EU and its Member States to deliver on all commitments to the UN Burundi Regional Refugee Response Plan, which requires USD 207 million up to September 2015 in order to assist the expected 200 000 Burundian refugees, including by topping up existing grants to the region;

Member States may grant exemptions from the measures imposed under paragraph 1 where travel is justified on the grounds of urgent humanitarian need, or on grounds of attending intergovernmental meetings and those promoted or hosted by the European Union, or hosted by a Member State holding the Chairmanship in office of the OSCE, where a political dialogue is conducted that directly promotes the policy objectives of restrictive measures, including democracy, human rights and the rule of law in Burundi.

BURUNDI, RWANDA, ZAIRE Support to IRAZ (Institut 6th EDF ECU 2 430 000 de Recherche Agronomique GRANT et Zootechnique) GITEGA - BURUNDI The purpose of this project is to provide IRAZ (Institut de Recherche Agronomique et Zootechnique), an institute of the CEPGL (Communauté Economique des Pays des Grands Lacs consisting of Burundi, Rwanda and Zaïre) with its own administrative building, three laboratories and a maintenance workshop in Gitega, Burundi.
