Under Article 103e of Regulation No 1234/2007/EC the authorisation of the Commission for national assistance concerns the grant of assistance but not the establishment of an upper limit by the Commission for the amount of assistance which may be granted.

The Commission shall decide whether the conditions for granting financial assistance for emergency measures from the Fund are fulfilled and set the amount of financial assistance to be granted on the basis of the information referred to above as well as any additional relevant information at its disposal.
