Mr. Speaker, let us remember that this was a dispute initiated in the courts by the Conservative Party of Canada because of the unequal treatment of the Conservative Party compared with other parties, including the NDP, which engages in the transfer of funds between riding associations from its central party to assist in local targeted ridings.
Monsieur le Président, ne perdons pas de vue que ce différend a été porté devant les tribunaux par le Parti conservateur du Canada en raison du traitement inéquitable accordé au Parti conservateur comparativement à celui accordé à d'autres partis, y compris le NPD, qui effectue des transferts de fonds entre la centrale du parti et les associations de circonscription pour épauler les circonscriptions cibles.

It looks like there's a real mess on hand, Mr. Chair, because we have a whole group of opposition parties who have declared that the practice of transferring funds between parties and local riding associations is an egregious violation of the law, but today we find out that they have engaged in exactly the same transfers.
