Question n 13 Mme Dawn Black: En ce qui concerne l’engagement du Canada en Afghanistan: a) combien estime-t-on que coûtera la présence continue de nos soldats là-bas; b) de quelle structure de commandement les Forces canadiennes en Afghanistan relèvent-elles actuellement et, plus précisément leur relation avec les forces américaines; c) combien de soldats avons-nous actuellement en tout en Afghanistan, et comment ce nombre va-t-il évoluer au cours des 12 prochains mois; d) comment le nombre de soldats canadiens affectés là-bas va-t-il évoluer au cours de la prochaine décennie; e) dans quelle mesure, aux yeux du gouvernement, la mission de nos soldats en Afghanistan est-elle compatible avec le rôle du Canada dans le monde; f) le gouvernement est-il au courant des conditions qui prévalent dans les établissements de détention d’Afghanistan sous contrôle américain et sous contrôle afghan et, si c’est le cas, comment évalue-t-il ces conditions; g) le gouvernement a-t-il demandé aux États-Unis des assurances au sujet du traitement des prisonniers que nos soldats livreront aux forces américaines ou afghanes; h) de l’avis du gouvernement, l’Accord sur le transfert des prisonniers signé le 18 décembre 2005 par le Chef d’état-major de la défense interdit-il aux Forces canadiennes d’envoyer leurs prisonniers dans d’autres pays que le Canada et l’Afghanistan; i) des forces étrangères ont-elles déjà enfoui des mines antipersonnel autour des camps ou des bases du Canada; j) y a-t-il autour des bases canadiennes des mines antipersonnel laissées derrière lors de conflits antérieurs en Afghanistan; k) pendant combien de temps le gouvernement estime-t-il que durera la présence militaire du Canada en Afghanistan; l) le gouvernement prévoit-il tenir d’autres débats à la Chambre des communes sur le déploiement de soldats canadiens en Afghanistan; m) le gouvernement prévoit-il soumettre la question de nouveaux déploiements militaires en Afghanistan à un vote à la Chambre; n) ...

In addition to my colleague's acknowledgement of the work of the International Association of Fire Fighters, the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation and, of course, the 180,000 firefighters from coast to coast to coast, I would like to acknowledge the work of the firefighters in my own community, the United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg, who have been at the forefront of our community speaking up about the tragedies that many of their members have experienced in the pursuit of fulfilling their responsibilities to our community, firefighters who have done a great service in terms of public education and awareness to help us deal with burn victims and ensure they have proper services and treatments to recover from serious burns.
Mon collègue a rendu hommage au travail de l'Association internationale des pompiers, de la Fédération canadienne des pompiers morts en service et, évidemment, des 180 000 pompiers de tout le Canada. C'est à mon tour de rendre hommage au travail des pompiers de ma propre collectivité, ceux de la United Fire Fighters of Winnipeg, qui ont pris l'initiative de parler des tragédies qu'ont vécues de nombreux membres de leur association dans l'exercice de leurs fonctions.

5. Where an aid application is lodged after the actions necessary for the granting of the aid have been performed and a holding is transferred in its entirety from one farmer to another farmer after those actions have started but before all the conditions for granting the aid have been fulfilled, the aid may be granted to the transferee provided the conditions in paragraph 3(a) and (b) are fulfilled.

Si une demande d'aide est déposée après réalisation des actions nécessaires à l'octroi de l'aide et qu'une exploitation est transférée en totalité par un agriculteur à un autre après le début de ces actions mais avant que toutes les conditions d'octroi de l'aide n'aient été remplies, l'aide peut être accordée au repreneur pour autant que les conditions prévues au paragraphe 3, points a) et b), soient respectées.

(19) Whereas Decision 96/362/EC laid down certain preconditions which had to be met before the United Kingdom could dispatch from its territory gelatin made from raw materials from bovine animals; whereas those preconditions have not been fulfilled and such dispatch has not been authorised; whereas, however, in order to regularise the situation, pending further scientific knowledge and advice, it is appropriate to withdraw the possibility of dispatch of gelatin made from raw materials from bovine animals slaughtered in the United Kingdom for human food, animal feed, cosmetics pharmaceutical and medical purposes; whereas that is in conformity with the advice from the Multidisciplinary Scientific Committee of 3 April 1997, according to which no production can be considered safe if the base material used for gelatin production is potentially infectious;

Whereas the competent authorities of Argentina have undertaken to ensure that the embryos have been collected or produced and processed by approved and supervised embryo collection or production teams, that they have, as appropriate, been obtained from animals of satisfactory health status, that they have been stored and transported in accordance with the rules which preserve their health status and are accompanied during transport by an animal health certificate in order to ensure that this obligation has been fulfilled;
considérant que les autorités compétentes d'Argentine se sont engagées à garantir que les embryons ont été collectés ou produits et traités par des équipes de collecte ou de production d'embryons agréées et contrôlées, qu'ils ont, le cas échéant, été prélevés sur des animaux dont l'état sanitaire est satisfaisant, qu'ils ont été stockés et transportés conformément aux règles qui préservent leur statut sanitaire et qu'ils sont accompagnés durant leur transport d'un certificat de salubrité attestant que cette obligation a été remplie;
