During the course of an attempt made by Carnaud S.A., a French manufacturer of metallic beverage cans, to acquire from Sacilor S.A. 66.6% of the shares in Sofreb, another French manufacturer of metallic beverage cans, the company Schmalbach-Lubeca A.G., a German subsidiary of the American company Continental Can Corporation, lodged a complaint with the Commission alleging violations of the competition rules of the EEC Treaty.
Alors que la société Carnaud S.A., fabricant français de canettes en métal, projettait d'acquérir auprès de Sacilor S.A. 66,6% des actions de la Sofreb, autre fabricant français de canettes en métal, la société Schmalbach-Lubeca SpA, filiale allemande de la société américaine Continental Can Corporation, a saisi la Commission d'une plainte pour violation des règles de concurrence du traité CEE.
