TRADUCTIONS EN CONTEXTE

In its final report published early 2002, it recommended that Member States set up a European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures in order to support a coherent and strategy-led approach to policy making on research infrastructure in Europe and to facilitate multilateral initiatives leading to better use and development of research infrastructure.
Dans son rapport final, publié au début de 2002, il recommande que les États membres créent un «Forum stratégique européen sur les infrastructures de recherche», afin de promouvoir une approche cohérente et à visée stratégique de la politique des infrastructures de recherche en Europe et de favoriser les initiatives multilatérales visant à optimiser l'utilisation et le développement de ces infrastructures.

The aim is to facilitate and support the preparation, implementation, long-term sustainability and efficient operation of the research infrastructures identified by the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) and of other world-class research infrastructures, which will help Europe to respond to grand challenges in science, industry and society.
L'objectif est de faciliter et de soutenir l'élaboration, la construction, la durabilité à long terme et l'exploitation efficiente des infrastructures de recherche recensées par le forum stratégique européen pour les infrastructures de recherche (ESFRI) et d'autres infrastructures de recherche de classe mondiale, qui aideront l'Europe à relever les grands défis de la science, de l'industrie et de la société.

The European approach to research infrastructures has made remarkable progress in recent years with continuously developing and implementing the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) roadmap for infrastructures, integrating and opening national research facilities and developing e-infrastructures underpinning an open digital ERA.
La politique européenne relative aux infrastructures de recherche a enregistré des progrès remarquables ces dernières années, que ce soit sur le plan de l'élaboration et de la mise en œuvre continues de la feuille de route du Forum stratégique européen pour les infrastructures de recherche (ESFRI) relative aux infrastructures, de l'intégration et de l'ouverture d'installations de recherche nationales ou du développement d'infrastructures en ligne qui sous-tendent un EER numérique qui soit ouvert.

This need has been expressed on numerous occasions both at political level by the Member States and the Community institutions, and by the various actors within the European research community such as undertakings, research centres and universities and, in particular, the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI).

Considers that most of the environmental and sustainability challenges need a response that makes proper use of the scientific and technological knowledge which must be, for that purpose, properly supported by sufficient funding by the Community and Member States; calls for the Commission to deliver a strategy for European Maritime Research and for better coordination and networking of European marine research institutes; to this end strongly endorses the establishment of a "European marine science network", with participation by all relevant European marine research institutes and support from the EU; calls for the knowledge acquired to be entered and stored in a European marine data centre to which all marine research institutes would have access; favours in this context the promotion of a European maritime conference on a regular basis to provide a forum for researchers and industry;

Stresses that providing world-class research buildings, facilities and infrastructures is a vital prerequisite for making European science and research centres attractive to the world's best researchers and achieving world-class excellence in research output, and therefore supports the Commission's proposal to allocate funds for this purpose; calls for the European Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) to be given a stronger role in setting a European infrastructure policy;
28. insiste sur le fait que la mise à disposition de la recherche de bâtiments, d'installations et d'infrastructures qui soient de premier ordre constitue une condition essentielle pour rendre les centres scientifiques et de recherche d'Europe attrayants pour les meilleurs chercheurs à l'échelle mondiale et parvenir à une excellence de niveau mondial quant au produit de la recherche; soutient, dès lors, la Commission quand elle propose de prévoir un financement à cette fin; souhaite un renforcement du rôle du Forum stratégique européen sur les infrastructures de recherche (ESFRI) dans la mise en place d'une politique européenne en matière d'infrastructures;

Support for research infrastructures in this programme should, where relevant, take into account existing or future mechanisms for a European approach to research infrastructures in Europe (e.g. National Research and Education Networks - NRENS and European Strategy Forum for Research Infrastructures), as well as the scientific advice of existing European and international organisations (e.g. European Science Foundation - ESF).
