The redistributive payment shall be calculated each year by Member States by multiplying a figure to be set by the Member State, which shall not be higher than 65 % of the national or regional average payment per hectare, by the number of payment entitlements activated by the farmer in accordance with Article 33(1) or by the number of eligible hectares declared by the farmer in accordance with Article 36(2). The number of such payment entitlements or hectares shall not exceed a maximum to be set by Member States which shall not be higher than 30 hectares or the average size of agricultural holdings set out in Annex VIII if that average size exceeds 30 hectares in the Member State concerned.

(2) The said monthly payment and the monthly payment on account of taxes shall be combined into one monthly payment and such combined monthly payment shall be paid on the payment dates set out in Clause 2 and shall be applied, firstly, in payment of amounts due and payable to the Director, exclusive of taxes, and secondly, as a tax credit but the amount held by the Director to the credit of the Veteran as a tax credit shall at all times be subject to the payment therefrom of all amounts otherwise due and payable to the Director.

(5) Where the election of a contributor is revoked in whole or in part pursuant to subsection (1) and further payments are required to be made by him, he shall make those payments in such amount and in such manner as the Minister determines and the payments shall be applied, firstly, in payment of the amount required to be paid by the contributor under subsection (2), if that amount has not already been paid, and the remainder of the payments, if any, shall be applied towards the payment for that portion of the period of service mentioned in the election that has not been revoked, calculated in accordance with the provisions of the Act and these Regulations.

(5) Where a contributor revokes an election under subsection (1) and further payments are required to be made by the contributor, the contributor shall make those payments in such amount and in such manner as the Minister determines and such payments shall be applied, firstly, in payment of the amount required to be paid by the contributor under subsection (2) if that amount has not already been paid, and the remainder of such payments, if any, shall be applied towards the purchase of that portion of the period of service (as determined by the Minister) mentioned in the election that has not been revoked, calculated in accordance with the provisions of the Act under which the election was made.

Where an entity or a legal arrangement is considered to be a paying agent, upon receipt of an interest payment or upon securing of such payment in accordance with Article 4(2), the interest payment shall be deemed to accrue to the following individuals, who shall be regarded as beneficial owners for the purposes of this Directive:
