This programme has a FIFG contribution of EUR62 million and total investments of EUR360 million are planned, mainly for the restructuring of the processing industry and modernisation of the fleet. The modernisation of the fleet is necessary in order to improve working and health conditions, to improve the selectivity of the fishing gear and to reduce the impact from fishing on the environment.
Un investissement total de 360 MEUR est prévu essentiellement pour la restructuration de l'industrie de la transformation et la modernisation de la flotte, cette dernière étant indispensable pour améliorer les conditions de travail et d'hygiène, améliorer la sélectivité des équipements de pêche et réduire les effets de la pêche sur l'environnement.

The Austrian authorities have indicated that Austrian Airlines introduced the ‘Go4Profit’ restructuring programme from 2006, by which it reduced its fleet and discontinued a number of long-haul routes.

The European Parliament, the Council and the Commission undertake to enter in the 2003 Budget, within the Berlin ceilings, the EUR 27 million which has not been included in the 2002 Budget out of the amount of EUR 197 million proposed by the Commission in the financial statement concerning the fleet restructuring programme, as well as EUR 15 million for the border regions.

It is, therefore, important that the next Budgetary Council should stop blocking and take these proposals into account, creating the solution that will allow the fleet restructuring programme to come into force early next year.
Il importe donc que le prochain Conseil budgétaire surmonte les blocages et tienne compte de ces propositions, en créant la solution appropriée à l’entrée en vigueur du programme de restructuration de la flotte au début de l’année prochaine.
