In yesterday's Globe and Mail there was an article entitled “Level of pesticide residue up on Canadian produce”, and the first sentence reads:
Dans le Globe and Mail d'hier, on pouvait lire un article intitulé [traduction] «Augmentation des résidus de pesticides dans les fruits et légumes frais au Canada». Voici la première phrase de cet article:

If the first sentence reads that it's intended “to ensure consistency with Canada's right and obligations under international law”, I would interpret that to mean a multitude of international laws or domestic laws we've passed to honour international commitments and agreements, whether they are laws that deal with international conventions, such as the Kyoto Protocol and the Copenhagen Accord, or the plethora, or multitude, of international environmental laws.

Mysteriously, that press release was taken off the website after it was pointed out by our side that it was the government that had obstructed and delayed the passage of Bill C-52 in a matter of weeks.
