In this context, the Commission and the EIB Group (EIB-EIF), launched in 2005 a new joint initiative known by the acronym “JEREMIE” (Joint European Resources for Micro to Medium Enterprises) to improve access to finance and develop micro credit for SMEs in the regions supported by the Structural Funds in the next budget period.
