So if I voted in favour of this resolution, it is because it intends to remedy these ills and promotes the introduction of a tax on financial transactions which would have the advantage of limiting speculation on financial transactions, of regulating the markets, of financing public assets, but also of reducing public deficit.
Si je me suis ainsi prononcée en faveur de cette résolution, c’est parce qu’elle entend répondre à ces maux et souhaite l’instauration d’une taxe sur les transactions financières qui aurait pour bénéfice de limiter la spéculation sur les transactions financières, de réguler les marchés, de financer les biens publics mais aussi réduire les déficits publics.

– (FR) I voted in favour of the consultation procedure report by my German colleague Mr Böge, which supports the proposal for a Council decision amending Decision 2003/77/EC laying down multiannual financial guidelines for managing the assets of the European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) in liquidation since 2002 and, on completion of the liquidation, the Assets of the Research Fund for Coal and Steel.
– (FR) J’ai voté le rapport de consultation de mon collègue Allemand Reimer Böge qui soutient la proposition de décision du conseil portant modification de la décision de 2003 qui fixe les lignes directrices financières pluriannuelles pour la gestion des avoirs de la communauté européenne du charbon et de l’acier (CECA) en liquidation depuis 2002 et, après clôture de la liquidation, des avoirs du Fonds de recherche du charbon et de l'acier.

13. points to the increasing influence of proxy voting intermediaries and financial intermediaries holding consumers' tangible assets through indirect holding systems; asks the Commission to assess the potential risks of market dominance, market abuse and conflicts of interest by such intermediaries and to closely monitor the effects of the prospective directive on the exercise of voting rights by shareholders of companies; encourages wider use of modern software solutions, thereby promoting disintermediation and direct market access by the end investor;
