I would like to confirm my opposition to the amendment regarding local fiscal incentives applicable to Canadian films included in Bill C-10 and recommend that the federal government amend Bill C-10 following consultations with the film industry, in order to eliminate any measure that would negatively impact on the financing of film productions.
Je tiens à confirmer mon opposition à la modification relative aux incitations fiscales applicables aux films canadiens contenues dans le projet de loi C-10, et je recommande que le gouvernement fédéral modifie celui-ci, après avoir consulté l'industrie cinématographique, afin d'éliminer toute mesure susceptible de nuire au financement des productions cinématographiques.

After reading the bill, we can only note that the tax measures will introduce an element of uncertainty which will have a definite negative financial impact on the production of Quebec and Canadian films, because it will be possible for the minister to require that tax credits be paid back once a film has been produced.
