In order to make applicant countries more familiar with the various concepts of Private Public Partnerships and inter-municipal co-operation in the management and financing of public utilities, the Austrian "Federal Ministry for Agriculture, Forestry, Environment and Water Management" and the Commission (DG Regional Policy and DG Environment) organised a joint seminar in Vienna on 17 and 18 September 2001 with participants from many countries both within the existing European Union and the Candidate Countries.
