Stresses the importance of combating gender stereotypes and discriminatory socio-cultural attitudes that reinforce women’s subordinate position in society and constitute one of the main causes of inequality between men and women, human rights violations against women and gender violence; emphasises the need to step up efforts to combat the persistence of stereotypes, through awareness-raising campaigns aimed at all levels of society, greater media involvement, strategies to encourage women and involve men, gender mainstreaming in education and in all EU policies and initiatives, in particular external action, cooperation and aid for development and humanitarian aid;

1. The Commission shall implement this Decision at Union level, in particular by adopting the necessary financing decisions in accordance with the Regulations establishing the instruments for financing external action relevant to the actions concerned, namely the Development Cooperation Instrument, the European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights, as established by Regulation (EU) No 235/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council , the European Neighbourhood Instrument, the Instrument contributing to Stability and Peace, as established by Regulation (EU) No 230/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council , the Instrument for Pre-accession Assistance, as established by Regulation (EU) No 231/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council , and the Partnership Instrument for cooperation with third countries, as established by Regulation (EU) No 234/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council (‘the instruments for financing external action’).
1. La Commission met en œuvre la présente décision à l'échelle de l'Union, en particulier en adoptant les décisions de financement nécessaires conformément aux règlements établissant les instruments pour le financement de l'action extérieure pertinents pour les actions concernées, à savoir l'instrument de financement pour la coopération au développement, l'instrument européen pour la démocratie et les droits de l'homme, institué par le règlement (UE) no 235/2014 du Parlement européen et du Conseil , l'instrument européen de voisinage, l'instrument contribuant à la stabilité et à la paix, institué par le règlement (UE) no 230/2014 du Parlement européen et du Conseil , l'instrument d'aide de préadhésion, institué par le règlement (UE) no 231/2014 du Parlement européen et du Conseil , et l'instrument de partenariat pour la coopération avec les pays tiers, institué par le règlement (UE) no 234/2014 du Parlement européen et du Conseil (ci-après dénommés «instruments pour le financement de l'action extérieure»).
