Strongly condemns the airstrikes by the Saudi-led coalition and the naval blockade it has imposed on Yemen, which have led to thousands of deaths, have further destabilised Yemen, are destroying the country’s physical infrastructure, have created conditions more conducive to the expansion of terrorist and extremist organisations such as ISIS/Daesh and AQAP, and have exacerbated an already critical humanitarian situation; strongly condemns, also, the destabilising and violent actions taken by the Houthis, including the siege of the city of Taiz, which has also had dramatic humanitarian consequences for its inhabitants;

Condemns Israel’s continued illegal settlement building and expansion activities in the West Bank, including in East Jerusalem, and the recent announcement made by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about the construction of 300 new settlement units in Beit El and 500 units in East Jerusalem, as well as the demolition of 142 Palestinian-owned homes and other infrastructure in Area C and in East Jerusalem in August 2015 alone, including 16 donor-funded structures, leading to the displacement of 201 Palestinians, among them 121 children, according to the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA); stresses again that Israeli settlement construction in the Occupied Palestinian Territory is illegal under international law, goes against the spirit of peace and constitutes a major obstacle to peace efforts; deplores the demolition of projects funded by the EU and its Member States in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, and encourages the EU and the Member States to find an appropriate solution with Israel regarding the compensation for destroyed or confiscated assets financed by European taxpayers;

Expresses its concern that in recent years Europe has suffered from fires destroying more than 400 000 hectares of forest per year, caused by the progressive abandonment of the countryside and its traditional activities, inadequate forest maintenance, the existence of large expanses of forest consisting of a single tree species, the planting of unsuitable tree varieties, the absence of a proper prevention policy and insufficiently severe penalties where fires are started deliberately, together with the inadequate implementation of laws prohibiting illegal building and ensuring reafforestation; notes that with fires occurring on this scale, especially in southern Europe, forests are unable to regenerate, and that this has serious ecological consequences and economic and social effects; also notes that the unusual weather conditions experienced in 2007 exacerbated the phenomenon of mega-fires, something which is likely to recur more often in years to come; further notes that global warming will increase over the next 30 years at least, and that this could primarily affect specific regions particularly vulnerable to climate change;

Agricultural Land Reserve designation; (d) does the Tsawwassen Final Agreement address the issue of farmland protection and if so, how; (e) will the farmland continue to be protected by the Agricultural Land Reserve designation following ratification of the Tsawwassen Final Agreement and, if not, why; (f) did the Vancouver Port Authority undertake to work jointly with the Tsawwassen Band to ensure the removal of the Agricultural Land Reserve designation from the farmland and, if so, why and what alternate measures did it put in place to protect farmland adjacent to the Roberts Bank port, rail and highway expansion; (g) did the Vancouver Port Authority agree to jointly develop with the Tsawwassen Band a container handling facility on the farmland protected by the B.C.
