Horizon 2020 funds the following lines of action: the 'Teaming' of research institutions (creating or upgrading centres of excellence), which received 167 eligible applications from all widening Member States; 'ERA Chairs' (which attract outstanding researchers to research institutions with a high potential for research excellence)' which received 85 eligible applications from almost all widening Member States; Twinning' (significantly strengthening a defined field of research through links with internationally-leading institutions), supported through a call open in 2014 but closing in 2015.
