Since you knew that the false and misleading information had been corrected to the Americans one year earlier, Commissioner, why did you not speak up and correct the public record here in Canada, where Maher Arar's reputation and that of his family was being badly damaged, after it was clear that there was no evidence against him?
Comme vous saviez qu'un rectificatif avait été adressé aux Américains, un an plus tôt, au sujet de ces renseignements faux et trompeurs, pourquoi n'avez-vous pas rectifié publiquement la situation, ici au Canada, alors que la réputation de Maher Arar et de sa famille avait été gravement ternie et qu'il était clair qu'aucune preuve n'avait été relevée contre lui?
