26. In liaison, as appropriate, with the NSA of the Member State concerned, the European Parliament, as the contracting authority, shall be entitled to conduct visits to contractors'/subcontractors' facilities on the basis of contractual provisions in order to verify that the relevant security measures for the protection of EUCI at the level RESTREINT UE/EU RESTRICTED, as required under the contract, have been put in place.
33. If an on-site visit reveals a serious deficiency deemed to constitute a serious threat to public policy or internal security within the area without internal border controls, the Commission, on its own initiative or at the request of the European Parliament or of a Member State, shall inform the European Parliament and the Council as soon as possible thereof.
