Positive steps have been taken in the framework of the EU Sustainable Development Strategy, the 6th Environment Action Programme and the White Paper on European Transport Policy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transport, including the biofuels Directive, with the envisaged target of 5.75% market share of alternative fuels by 2010; the proposal for a modification of the Eurovignette Directive; measures on fuel taxation; and the above mentioned energy products taxation Directive, which allows Member States to apply lower minimum tax rates for alternative fuels generating fewer CO2 emissions.
Des mesures positives ont été prises dans le cadre de la stratégie de l'UE pour le développement durable, du 6ème programme d'action pour l'environnement et du livre blanc sur le politique européenne des transports en vue de réduire les émissions de gaz à effet de serre provenant du secteur des transports, notamment la directive sur les bio-carburants, avec comme objectif une part de marché de 5,75% pour les carburants de substitution d'ici à 2010, la proposition de modification de la directive sur l'eurovignette, les mesures relatives à la taxation des carburants et la directive susmentionnée relative à la taxation des produits énergétiques qui permet aux États membres d'abaisser les taux minimaux d'imposition aux carburants de substitution qui dégagent moins d'émissions de CO2.

However, data protection may be addressed on an ad hoc basis in specific legal instruments in these fields, both at Community and Member State level.[14] As a consequence, additional safeguards will be required in case it would be envisaged to share personal data between authorities falling within the scope of the existing legal framework for data protection (e.g. fisheries authorities) and authorities (currently) falling outside that scope (e.g. military, state security authorities).

(10) In accordance with Article 166(1) of the Treaty, it is necessary to establish the scientific and technological objectives and to fix the relevant priorities for the activities envisaged, the maximum overall amount, the detailed rules for Community financial participation in the sixth framework programme, as well as the respective shares in each of the activities envisaged, and to indicate the broad lines of the activities in question, which will be implemented in compliance with the objective of protecting the Community's financial interests.

(9) In accordance with Article 166(1) of the Treaty, it is necessary to set the scientific and technological objectives and priorities for the activities envisaged, the maximum overall amount, the detailed rules for the Community's financial participation in the programme for the period 2002-2006, as well as the respective shares for each of the activities envisaged, and to indicate the broad lines of the activities in question, while respecting the objective of protecting the financial interests of the Community.
(9) Conformément à l'article 166 paragraphe 1 du Traité, il y a lieu de procéder à la fixation des objectifs et priorités scientifiques et technologiques des actions envisagées, du montant global maximum et des modalités de la participation financière de la Communauté au programme-cadre 2002-2006 ainsi que des quotes-parts respectives de chacune des actions envisagées et à l'indication des grandes lignes de ces actions, en respectant les objectifs de protection des intérêts financiers de la Communauté.
