Takes note that a positive step was achieved in the new electoral law regarding the media environment, including new provisions for voters’ right to diverse, objective and unbiased information and for balanced coverage; regrets, however, that large amounts of money were spent on media coverage by the main political parties, while campaign coverage was limited or restricted, which therefore made these provisions less relevant;
