The Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) as well as its Working Group on the EGF examined the mobilisation of the EGF for the case EGF/2011/020 ES/Comunidad Valenciana Footwear from Spain and adopted the following opinion.

The European Commission has proposed to provide Spain with €1,019,184 from the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) to help 300 workers made redundant in the metal sector in the Comunidad Valenciana region to find new jobs.
La Commission européenne a proposé d'accorder à l'Espagne 1 019 184 € du Fonds européen d’ajustement à la mondialisation (FEM) afin d’aider 300 travailleurs licenciés du secteur métallurgique dans la région de la Comunidad Valenciana à trouver un nouvel emploi.

Spain applied for support from the EGF following the dismissal of 560 workers in 198 small and medium sized textile enterprises in the region of the Comunidad Valenciana.
